This October will witness the closing chapter in Steve Rogers’ career chapter as Captain America—though knowing superhero comics, I’d have to add the qualifier “for now.”

Captain America #25 will be a double-sized issue in which writer Rick Remender and artists Carlos Pacheco and Stuart Immonen bring the Z Dimension storyline to a close and have Steve hang up his shield, or rather pass it on to another.

And while the cover of #25 rhetorically asks, “Who is the new Captain America?” we already know, obviously, who it is since Marvel made the big announcement weeks back that Sam Wilson (aka the Falcon) would be the one to take up the mantle.

Here are some advance images just released by Marvel.
