Want-it Wednesday: Marvel Matching Game

I had a pang of nostalgia the moment I saw the press release for this new Marvel Matching Game from Wonder Forge. I don’t know if kids nowadays play much of these kinds of games anymore – too simple, maybe? – but for my generation growing up these were very common. And of course it’s well known that such games that force you to exercise your memory muscles not only develop said memory early on but help maintain its sharpness well into adult life and even the golden years. As such, they’re perfect for cross-generation gameplay between kids and adults or seniors.

I remember the memory card games I used to play as being pretty fun already, but I can’t imagine how much more fun they would have been with these cool Marvel cards.

Like the use of Marvel imagery but find the set above to be too kiddie-oriented? There’s another game from the Memory company that also uses licensed Marvel iconography but this time using covers of classic comics. Similarly called Marvel Comics Memory Challenge, I’d totally go for this one myself. The cards are simply beautiful and I’ve already noticed my own memory starting to lose some of its sharp edge, so it seems like a good time to start playing this nostalgic game again and give the ol’ memory a good workout.
